Need Guidance to maintain arowana for long healthy life

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
8x3x3 would be minimal for both Aro and Oscar.
OMG:confused: While i ask here. The shop keeper said that 5ft tank is enough for them. Thats y i have bought them:( Cant i keep my babies healthier and happier in 5ft tank?
Your in India so not familiar with what brands they sell there but Hikari is a excellent brand they make carnivore sticks specifically for Aro's and top dwelling predators.

Arowana get big! Asian arowana get large but not as big as silvers. About 30" top, a 60" tank isn't quite enough imo

8 x 3 footprint is the smallest to consider, a pop up pool can work too

Here they said that our arowana only grow upto two feets. So its easy for us to maintain. Like that they said bro.

it's good to have 4 x the length and 1.5 x the width of the fish for ample swimming space

The 5ft tank can work... Let's guess say it's a minimum size

Is your aro trained on pellets? You can also consider baby frogs or mealworms at this moment if it does not eat pellets

With a good filtration, an aro and oscar is not a problem... Good to have a fish competing with the aro for food, many keepers says it helps with the aro appetite

It might not even get that big if you keep it in a small tank...
;)

5' isn't enough length for an active 2' long fish, and IMO having just enough room to turn around isn't really right either. I raised my green aro up to 16" in a 6x2.5x2' tank, and even at that size the tank was starting to look small. Perhaps you could keep it in a smaller tank, but they really deserve an 8x3' footprint if possible.
