I did another water test today and the ammonium was really low and PH was at 7.5. Everything else looked good. The water was little hard.
how low are we talking for the ammonia?

I'm not sure. He said almost non-existent. I'm guess because it is a 55 gallon with 3 little fish. The salt is by Top Fin it is a Conditioning Salt. On the front it says helps reduce stress. How long should I leave the food in there after I feed them and should I stick with feeding them twice a day? Maybe a half a cube of bloodworms or a pinch of flakes each time?

ok, your salt should be fine then. i thought you were talking about something else.

do you have your own test kit?

yeah, it's always nice to have your own rather than having to rely on the lfs to test your water

when i have little guys like that, i usually feed them a few times a day, during each feeding, i keep putting a little bit in until they stop showing interest.

use super strength tap water conditioner it removes all hard metals and chlorine from the water my brother did the same thing we threw a few drops in it well its supposed to be a 1 drop to 1 gallon but we did like 20 drops to a 55g and it was fine after 2 days

I put bloodworms in there a few hours ago and they are still eating. I guess they were starved. So I guess if there are still some in there when I go to bed, then I'll pull them out.
