The filter I have is made by pro clear aquatics and I am having loads of trouble getting it started. I bought it 2nd hand I just want to get this thing started because i am clueless on what to do

Pics? What all parts do you have?

I was online last night for 3 hrs searching but couldn't find all my answers

Okay here is all the pics i took and what i have done so far. the problem i am having is that i don't know what pump goes to what and which pumps are suppose to go in the filter itself. its a pro clear aquatics filter that hangs on the back and siphons water to the filter below (i don't know how to start the siphon either)

Then there are 2 pumps that look like they may have been hooked up to the filter the 1 has two holes and say utility pump and marked as for the sump and the other one has 1 hole which is made by atman ph-1100 powerhead

There are 4 hoses 2 skinny long ones and 1 fat short one and 1 fat long one

Also there are two more pumps but they don't look like they are for the filter i think they are for the uv sterilizer and for the skimmer.
1 of them is a maxijet 1200 which the guy labeled it PH on the cord but the skimmer has a maxijet 1200 already hooked up to it then there is aqua clear 70 power head which i don't know where it goes

Finally there is a aquarium systems skimmer and a coralife turbo twister uv sterilizer. I am guessing the skimmer hangs on the side or back of the tank (how do you run the water into the skimmer) but i don't know where the uv sterilizer goes in the sump maybe (he also said that it needs a new membrane)

Well all any help is appreciated thanks in advance

the first pump(mag) is used for the wet/dry return line. the third pump(maxijet powerhead) is used for the uv sterilizer. the aquaclear powerhead was probably used for extra water movement in the tank. the airline is so you can start the siphon on the overflow box.

lol. i had a hard time as well when i set up my first sump back when i did a saltwater tank.

if that overflow is too loud for you, google the gurgle buster. it only takes 10 minutes to put together and make the overflow dead silent.

Glad to hear you got it all worked out.

Yea i was confused because he gave me so many pumps and hoses and i didnt know how to get the siphon started so i decided to give it a shot and connected a pump to the uv sterilizer and connect the return spout to the other and started a siphon on the hang on box and it started to work I was confused as hell at the beginning but now as happy as can be. I paid $250 for everything and he threw in a bucket of salt, tests kits, heater, and a couple of other little things so needless to say i am extremely happy. Now i need a light and fish and corals.
