Need help breaking payara tatauaia off live foods

yea i actually tried soaking tilapia strips and anchovies in the same cup, then used the fishing line technique and it only took the anchovy. althought it would not eat the tilapia, every time any of the other tankmates that gets near the tilapia, the payara will attack and charge. kinda keeping other fish from eating it.

frustrating haha.... tried using a teacher fish but the payara wont let the teacher fish teach!

It’s an oily fish. Would be careful. Try some floating carnisticks. Try cutting strips of fish about same size as the anchovies and mixed with the actual anchovies when feeding.

i tried the carnisticks, but the payara just stares at it. i've stuffed 2 or 3 carnisticks in an anchovy for the payara; took it down easily. but eating the carnistick by itself? doesnt bother with it yet
