Not suitable for 25gallon tank IMO.

Bleheri (Rainbow) will be OK for single or a pair. You really can't get away with anything bigger than Bleheri in your tank.

As for the Red snakehead, forget it!

I just called my local Pet Shop and he just received some Red Snakehead... i'm just wondering if i should buy one or not.

Can anyone comment on this plz ?

I know that this is the Giant snakehead but it would be nice to have one so close to my home.

The other Channa is far from here and i would have to wait 2 weeks and travel 10hrs by bus too get home with it and i'm scared that he would not survive the trip.

As i said the 25G tank is temp. I will buy a much bigger tank soon , really soon.

Would a red snakehead be ok in a 85 - 105 gallons tank ?

Well the Red Snakehead is out of the question PERIOD !

I was trying to make it work but the fish is way too big for me and my wallet.
I just contacted a guy who can get a lot of different species and he can have them delivered to my door for a 15$ more.

He said he can get the Asiatica, Orange Spotted, Pulchra and other kind that i dont remember the name.

So i will be patient and wait for the right species for me.

Thx to all who replied to this post.

channa micropeltes is a good option for u and it cn grow up 39cm/1m

Are you serious ?
I will not buy a 200G tank to fit a monster fish in my home. I really dont know why they sell red snakehead , well i guess because they are cheap but most people who buy them dont know what they are buying !!

As i said i will wait to have a better options.

200g....

Eh you will need bigger than that for a fish that will easily pass 40" if given the proper care.

I would personally say somewhere in the reagon of 8-3-3 or very similar. The bigger the better, although they are lazy fish they still need the room.

IMO, if you want to keep anything other than the smaller Bleheri, gachua etc then get the larger tank first.

The idea of anything like Marulia, red snakeheads etc is just laughable in 100 gallons!
