Just a general question here. Are the male JD's more aggressive? I've heard this is partly true as they seem to get more aggressive when the water temperature decreases. I'm not sure how much that is true but are the males typically more aggressive then the females for JD's?

Try to find some Congo black calvus that would look cool I'm trying to find some myself but I can't find them local maybe you would have more luck

Just wanted to let everyone know that gave me a suggestion I've chosen on a lone Regular Jack Dempsey. He / she is young as you can see in my pic but he / she already has some pretty good blueish color. Once again thanks for all the suggestions everyone! You've all been a big help on me getting back to keeping a tank again.
Cupid cichlids, smaller eartheaters, rams, salvini, dwarf pikes, and many others out there that would be more suited for a 55 than oscars or JD's. Oscars get too big to be housed comfortably in a 55, but one JD would probably be ok in there.
