bderick67 is right ive had those thry are harmless.....i got rid of them by pumping out all the water cus they stick to the wall the water should dry and kill them on the wall then fill it back up and do a quick water change

I don't have a holding tank I can trf my discus to - I do have a 5gal bucket but afraid they will be overstressed.

but I would have to do a complete clean out of my filters, driftwood & other surfaces, right?

I was thinking if I were able to pump all the water out & blast refill with hot scalding faucet water that should kill anything & everything, right? like worms, mites, parasites, bacteria, viruses, my pet dog cat mouse gerbil...

sorry got carried away. I was trying to be funny LMBFAO! but hey! it is 418am! getting a little punchy!

just up the water changes and you'll get rid of them

I am already doing daily w/c - how much more can I up it? meaning go higher than 30-40%? yesterday was 80%. will do same this evening.

I cleaned out the brown "algae" but worms/mites still abound tho not as much as b-4 the w/c.

are you saying you think the worms/mites will disappear w/o any treatment except w/c? (+ reduced feeding?).

the worms and things that look like mites come when food and waste is sitting for long periods of time less food at a time and clean water will get rid of most of them.but they are harmless and i would not put your fish through a treatment of meds to rid your tank of them
