Apparently my water temp is too low in one of my tanks even though I have 3x 200W heaters in the sump because I noticed signs of ich. So I need an in-tank stingray safe heater solution to get mu temp raised and to get rid of the ich.

Any help would be appreciated.

use stealth heaters. the body is plastic and does not shatter. also they do not get that hot to burn the rays.

How big is the tank, and what is the current temp? Why do you need to put the heater in the tank? Having the heaters in the sump will work just the same.

What other fish are in with the stingrays?

You can also buy pvc pipe and drill holes in it and drop it over a regular 300W heater; it would fix the temp right up, but just make sure that a filter or powerhead or something is blowing on it.

use RENASMART HEATERS THey only get warm to the touch, u could hold it in ur hand after it runs for awhile when set at 84'f..

a stealth can burn a ray... but they are less likely to be burned by one...

go buy some seachem paraguard and treat the ich with it.... med is ray safe and works great....

X2. Stealths can indeed burn rays... but I don't understand why the heaters in the sump are not working for you. What temp do you have them set on? Also, if you're just putting them in the sump, you can always go for a higher wattage. I have 4 300wt heaters in my waterfall spillway for my 320 gallon and in Wisconsin, in the basement, in the dead of winter, they keep my glass tank heated properly. If you can heat the tank without putting the heaters inside the tank, that is always the best route for rays. The pvc can sometimes have a tendency to lower the temp a little. You can always just add heaters to your sump if it isn't hot enough.

Also, my temp was lower than I set it at one time and I found out that one of my heaters was broken. Make sure you check your heaters to insure they are working properly.

Good luck.

well it seems like the heaters are always turning themselves off. They are never all on at the same time. The tank is open top, so that's why all the heat escapes so fast. Do titanium heaters work well?
