TSN = pseudoplatystoma fasciatum ?
Never more than 24-30 inches?
If true, i would go for it...
I thought pseudoplatystoma fasciatum became as big as RTC...
Could you confirm latin scientific name of TSN ?
TSN = Pseudoplatystoma. Period. It's a genus. There are multiple species in the genus. 99.99% of what's available in the ornamental fish trade and labeled "TSN" is a gene-pool-waste fasciatum... or an indecipherable hybrid of various TSN species, some think, like

In captivity, the biggest RTCs usually max out at 3.5'-4'. The biggest refuse TSN usually max out at 2'-2.5'. There are exceptions on each side, smaller and bigger, but my impression is that these numbers are pretty representative.

Right but it wasn't sold as an unknown species or a cheap refuse $15 TSN the whole world has been enjoying for the last 10+ years. We believe his to be a corruscans, which is the largest TSN species and which is not known (to me) to be farmed, hence, must be wild caught.Only one I can think of is dazz's
Corruscans is used in hybridizing at SA fish farms though too but we seem unsure in what fashion and whether we get these hybrids in the ornamental fish trade.
