what good would it do to change water every hour?

stress the fish?
Are you SERIOUS?!?!??!?!?!Like i said,he has NO IDEA what water paramaters are.So i can pretty much bet that he's sky high on Ammonia,Nitrite, and Nitrate!!! Havent you heard of a water change? They dont stress fish if done right. And 10% an hour will be better and less stressfull on the fish than 50-70% once........................

You would have to have a well effed up tank to have peaks in ammonia nitrite and nitrate. They peak one at a time, and if he had spiked up nitrates, his tank was fully cycled and he had probably never done water changes ever, and he has enough bacteria in the tank to cycle all 5 of the great lakes.

every hour is a bit excessive. I don't even think discus breeders do that and they are the ones that do frequent smaller water changes. If you do that many water changes that frequently then you are going to recycle your tank. Do a 25% at the end of this week and make it a habit. Maybe a 10% every day you are treating the tank, but thats the most. If you clean it too much the tank will mini cycle causing mini spikes in ammonia and nitrite all over again. That means all your fish will die.

once an hour water change...............

best one I have heard in a while hahahahahaha

"if things get bad you may have to bump it up to twice an hour.................."
