some fish are polyigamists also. you might need to do a little research and maybe get him another female or two.
So thats where they got the bars from, and im 100% sure they r half firemouths. And the size is from mayan too, the male is 8 inches and female around 7 inches.fishticuffs;5020050; said:by the way those are definatly 100 percent positively half mayan. i have had mayans 3 seperate times. i would bet on it
Nuthin really just 2 pots 2 small rocks and a small 15 inch driftwoodRegalblue;5020289; said:What kind of decoration is in their tank? Do you have alot of things that break his line of sight?
Also, I always use dither/target fish. For example for my Flowerhorn/Blood Parrot pair, I have a few Nimbochromis Venustus with them. (fast & cheap)
The Venustus are about half the pairs size.
Ok ill do that. So they r half festae and half firemouth?agorkemt;5029446; said:IMO you should seperate them with a seperater in order to make the fish see each other. Lower your water changing amount like %20 which will make the water more acidic. More older water in the tank more acidic it will get. Do not forget to change the water from above not from the bottom. After 2 weeks or so, make %40 water change which will make the fish feel like rain season and instinctly make them prepare themselves for breeding.
This tactic worked out for my and my hobby friends' CA and SA cichlids.
Just checked the photos of the fish, they can be hybrid but i do not think they are half mayan or so little mayan blood they have. the face and the shape of the mouth looks like me Festae.
