hi guys i have a 38 gallon soon to be 125 with a 4.5 inch zz fh and he beat a kkp up pretty bad so i gave the kkp to my brother. I dont think he likes other cichlids but he doesnt bother his other tank mates zig-zag eel, rainbow shark (kinda like a redtail shark),a raphael cat (striped) and a common pleco. What else could i get, i dont think he would mind anything that isnt a cichlid, you guys got any suggestions? Maybe there is a cichlid i could get i dont know.

If you put him with an Oscar would he get Territorial?
or maybe he would have some fun chasing some guppies lol! jk
:):)

maybe jewels or some other oddball fish?

Could try a school of red hooks (once you've got the 125 up), they get big and are quick enough to stay clear of your FH. Otherwise maybe more cats.

If you put in plenty of rockwork etc for them to get under cover you could have some pairs of jewels or convicts. If they don't have small hidey holes to escape to the FH will probably kill them once it's large though.

hey camp u didnt read the thread or what (SOON TO BE A 125!!) god do people like u just wait around to post mean nasty comments or what?

Stocking is tricky, when it comes to FH. In my part of the world people take one FH one tank rule pretty seriously. Similarly fast growing big cichlids like oscar, red devils, midas etc. can be tried when all are juveniles.... but sooner or later they will have to be separated. The oscar won't stand a chance.... devils n midases will spend their life fighting/defending!
Sometimes plecos work.... because they don't seem fish enough for the FH to get worked up. But when I tried that.... during feeding time the pleco came out from its den for pellets.... the FH thought pleco is the food!! Since then it has been staying alone.
I'll advice to keep the FH in your present tank.... stock up your other tank with fish which can be maintained in a community setup.

I'm not too sure if this should have been posted in the Hybrid section... may be the OP was asking for pure cichlid info which could be kept with a FH.
