Need Help Identifying Things on Bruce

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Some of my rays have these as well, there more like raised lines that zig zag in small locations on the ray. Tried to treat with many different things and they never go away.

Update?

Those things are parasites, and they spread all around with this "herpes like" shape. If i dont remember badly they´re some sort of copepods/crustaceans (dont know the word in english). Mine treated herself by jumping out of the water, just like SW rays. Some Vets recomend Luferunon (Program-Novartis). Use UV to brake the life cycle at the egg stage. Worked for me.

its not a parasite ... because its almost like a growth on the skin of the rays, my male motoro when i first got him had these, i think its just a fungus that grows on thier skin like warts

They are not parasites. We have had pathologists look at this as have others and it is just normal skin and denticles. Perhaps there is a parasite that looks similiar but that looks just like what I've seen in the past on older rays.
