I have the fish that is about four months old 5 months old he has the colours have an Oscar but the body shape of a red devil / Texas cichlid when I bought him from an auction he came with 11 Texas cichlids so I was wondering can a Texas cichlid cross breed with an Oscar I will try to get photos up but he is incredibly shy at the moment the photos I were able to get are not the greatest but he has started to develop the cranial hump.
Without a side view photo, it'd be almost impossible to tell.
Although the colors, and mouth shape look to me(I'll stick my neck out here) like one of the Oligomelanic Amphilophus from the great lakes of Nicaragua.
A more commonly used term might be a piebald red devil.
