Its very young to be able to id properly, but at a guess, maybe protomelas fenesratus (red empress) female...

the red on the fins could mean its a male that hasent coloured yet.
But I would say its more likely a female.
I have 2 male and 3 female red empress (wild caught) and when they reach maturity they are really beautiful.
Mine are about 4 year old, and 7inch

THis is the best picture I could get of him outa the bag, the fish is only around 1.25 inches right now.
Yea I could be right, although the nose is slightly more pointed, but then again, I have never seen 1 that small!
It certainly could turn out to be male though, as my female dont have the red on the fins.

thanks for the help! At the beginning I was thinking maybe it was a malawi eye biter because of the red stripes on the fins, the line running down its side, and the blue hue it has, but the mouth/ face just doesnt seen right for it to be that so I really don't know... Thanks again for the help!
My first thought was juvie - Chilotalapia Euchilus, but the head is different - I think it's a good call on Protomelias Taeniolatus
