I don't know much about IDing rays except for the usual motoros and retics, so can someone help me ID the biggest ray in the video....

http://youtube.com/watch?v=kPxv29A2jw4

He was sold to me as a histrix but after looking at other pix he really doesn't look like one. Don't worry he will be going in a pond soon....i wanted him in the tank so i could monitor his eating and check out his belly side for any problems. Whatever it is, I'm happy and I think I got a good deal.

Not Hystrix for sure, looks like Orbignyi, Humerosa or Dumerilii.....my guess. Have seen 3 of them in the wild and they look very similar to some retics sold here in Europe and some places in States.

dosent look like a humerosa.. But Orbinyi or dummerili for sure..!

I agree, but the total lack of activity of the rays in that tank worries me. I have three and at least one is moving at all times, usually all three!

actually it was just that one time that they were all just relaxing. they are all very active. that was the first time i seen the 3 hangout like that so i figured to get a video of it. they were probably just spooked cause i took the air bubbler out and put it in the sump and did a water change.

i was gonna say humerosa type and does look like some retics as well.... no activity though....

i'll be updating a newer video of my rays eating. the video looks like my tank is all dirty but its frozen bbs and frozen blood worms and the gravel is full of live blackworms. and the big ray is handfed silversides and market shrimp.

im rubbish with brown ray ID but im going to say all retic

please move the big ray out soon their are far to many rays in such a small tank

im sorry to say but the water doesnt look that great in that tank

Are the small ones the offspring of the bigger ones?

I would have to agree with Humerosa, Orbignyi and/or Dumerelli as well.. tough to tell without detailed pics.. the adult I don't think is a reticulata unless the tail was damaged creating the blade at the end.
