Sold as an Emporer ID Shark...there were normal ID sharks there and they looked a little different so I want to know the correct scientific name

kinda looks like a Pangasius hypophthalmus or Pangasius sutchi but a little thicker... i think those are just normal ID sharks

My guess is that it is a paroon shark(Pangasius sanitwongsei) can someone confirm?

I was told by a friend the iridescent is just the color i just figured if it was a paroon they wouldve called it that instead of an emporer ID there isn'tmuch info on the net about emporer ids but tons on paroons and it seems to be a pretty close match although ive seen some paroons the are much taller fish those had a much different body style then mine even when its stomach is full

that looks just like my paroons. Paroons have higher dorsal fins and are darker in color....

mine are larger now than they were in that pic, if you'd like I will get new pics today and post them for you, their dorsal fin is even higher now, almost has a tendril that comes off of it at the top point.....

oh, and these get big, but are very interesting fish, they are very active and I have heard that they spook easily and go ape sh*t in your tank, bouncing off walls and such, but in my experience, they haven't done that, they just need adequate swimming space so as to not feel too crowded with their other tank mates. I fed mine hikari sinking carnivore pellets until just recently (they were going through a bag in 4-5 days and it is just too pricey to use anymore), now they are on hikari massivore delite, they don't like it as well, but will eat it, but with the sinking carnivore pellets they were always very active, healthy and grew extra fast! I got mine at 3" about 6 months ago, now one is 10" and the other is close to a foot!

I had one of mine spook pretty bad. Friend thought it would be funny to hit the tank:irked: and he hit so hard he was stiff, I thought he didnt make it. But he did

watch out for that goldfish! lol I had one that looked JUST like it and he was about 3 inches, and my paroons where 3" also, and one day I was like holy cow, what did my paroon eat! well come to find out, he ate that goldfish the same size as him.. he couldnt even really swim he was so big, lol. I mean the goldfish was a feeder, but I thought he was nice looking so I put him in the smaller tank... He got annoying pretty fast though so its ok.
