Need help! Input on Dorado ID........

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I thought opinions are like buttholes - everyone has one......

So you guys are looking at this thread but nobody is saying anything????

Does this mean you guys are thinking these things are NOT Hillari?

I've had Brassies and Frankies. Personally I don't think these look like either of those species......

What do YOU guys think?

My butthole thinks they are Hilarii. I keep focusing on the black dot just behind the gill plate. I am thinking the dot is unique to Hilarii.

Well my opinion isn't as clear as yours, though I haven't looked at the sticky for the other two species, and only ever researched Frankie and brassi, so my opinion means very little here but I agree it is neither Frankie or brassi. I can't say which of the other two it is

That black dot ( NOT the ol B hole) also seems to stick out to me. First time I saw this dot I thought that this made them Brycon. I know I've seen similar dots on Dentex....... BUT the more they grow the more I can't help but think Dorado.

You guys interested in the really good news????? :) Well there's good news, then even gooder news, especially if you're one of those people that think man Dorado are sweet fish, too bad they get so big....... Assuming they really are Hillari that is - They stay small. They seem to shoal without nips, tattered fins, or missing scales.

IF there's interest in said good and gooder news I'll gladly share, but I have to know there's interest!

Shoaling Dorado is no doubt a happy sight.
