so today i was trying to put a pic up of bichir of the month and i noticed my bichirs have lil worms all over them they look clear but u can see them latching on at one end and moving what should i do
All wild caught Bichirs have hook worm issues. At least all the wild caught Bichirs I ever owned. It's no big deal just treat for hook worms in a hospital tank for a couple days BEFORE you introduce into your main tank. I use a 20 long for this. Just set the tank next to your main tank and drain some water into it, but a sponge filter in there and the fish and medication. It only takes a few days. It's cheaper to treat 20 gallons of water also vs the main tank lol
Edit: This is so common (to me) I just treat all new Bichirs even if I don't see the hook worms. I've had new fish for 3 to 4 weeks before I saw the hook worms, so now I just treat every new Bichir
thanks egon but the bichirs seem to be trying to scrap them off the jerk and burst with speed and bang aganst the tank do u think its ancor worms
