Received from a friend this 160x120x40cm aquarium from a friend.
12mm thickness glass

Was thinking about adding two sumps or one sump and one DIY K1 bucket.

I have not drilled a tank before..

Also need help on what is the best way to make the lid on this tank.

It has no bracings.

(It does not need to be pretty, its a temporary growout for my rays, when they get bigger I will move them to my pond or my bigger aquarium)

You need to know what type of glass it is prior to attempting to drill it. If it's a temporary grow-out for young rays why not do an external overflow off 1 of the sides to the sump & preserve the integrity of the tank?
Polycarbonate panels cut to size would be a good cover;
The middle has no bracing will the polycarbonate sheet bend down? Also I cannot find 120cm wide poly

Looks like the glass came from some kind of display for a store or cabinate originally and was diy into a tank.
That last Pic look like finger holds to slid the glass horizontally. And the tabs are probably to hold up a shelf of glass when it was the display case.

It was an aquarium, he said the previous owner siliconed those to put on 3 lids.

I am thinking of buying or making an external overflow box, never done it before..

Would an intake from external filter work?

Also I plan on around 10x turnover, so like 7500L/h .

Cannot find overflow boxes with that flow rate..
