Need help picking out new fish

What would I need to keep an eye on with a p-bass..Also do they need to be in groups or can they be housed single...

Becomes too nasty and I got a 125 gal with a 12 inch rhom he could cohab with.....J/K..

I need something in their for coloration-I gave my moms stupid parrot away and she is pissed at me for that......
I was thinking a nice big blue dempsey a nice Synspilum and maybe a vieja species of some sort---But I have no clue if they would be compatible or not...

I would go with a Jack Dempsey. Colorful, and can take care of himself.
