Need help planning a swamp-type paludarium

I had considered that but that's not quite the look I'm going for. I'd like to find some driftwood pieces that would provide a decent area of flat elevated land so that I wouldn't need to use other methods for creating land area.

Hmm...If there was enough wood above the water to create a substantial enough land area, would this type of enclosure be at all suitable for a tiger salamander? I really like the way they look, almost prehistoric, but I wouldn't want to keep it in an enclosure that didn't fit it's needs...?

Tigers really need a substrate they can dig in. The trouble with that in a paludarium setup is that the salamander will constantly drag substrate into the water. I suppose drowning is also a possibility; they swim well enough during breeding season, but might have trouble if kept with deep water year-round.

If you like that "burly" look, consider the Spanish ribbed newt, Pleurodeles waltl.
