will a 200 watt heater ( jager) be enough to use on 135gallon or is it not enough power please let me know right away . thanks guys .

How warm is the room that the tank will be in?

I'd pick up a 300W, IMPO. I've never undersized with my heaters because the less they have to work, the longer they'll last.;)

Howdy,

I would actually get two smaller heaters rather than one bigger heater. If a big heater gets out of control it heats the water to a dangerous temperature faster than an small heater ever can. 300 W total sounds good.

Agreed, 2 heaters work better, safer, and less hard. Also 20 C. generally means you will want about a 4-5 degree C. raise in temp. so two 150 watt or even two 200 watt heaters would not be excessive for a 135g.

i have a 200 watt jager on my 55 so i think a litle biger heater would be better for a bigger tank

Yep, i aggree also.

I would have 2, 150 watt heaters. One at each end of the tank on the back glass

ok this is what i did i listened to all of you and dr sudz i have put two heaters on the 135g one 250 watt and one 200 watt i know the 250 watt is a little big with the other 200 watt but i already had the 200 watt and lfs only had the 250 watt out off 200 watt when i whent there . so my thought was GO BIG OR GO HOME . LOL is that not the motto here on MFK .
GO BIG OR GO HOME . bigger is better . lol :headbang2
