My anglefish looks very ill. I mean he is up, swimming about, eating etc. but the problem is he has lost all of his colour! he is transparent! He is a half black, and I'm worried now, because I have two Half blacks, and the other one is slowly turning colourless too. They are in a 400L tank, with four other angelfish who seem to be fine. These angels are fine in every way apart from the colour, what's going on? someone please help me.

lol u guys stop being shy. i always need to say this!!!

I wouldn't start freaking out big time until they stop eating or swimming straight. They might be a bit stressed out from something minor... How long was the transition from half black to transparent, and were there any significant events (water changes, top-offs, filter cleanings, heater malfunctions) at the time that the transition started??

no, nothing has changed. they are swimming fine, eating fine. its just the colour change that has got me worried.i did a water change yesterday and they were fine with it. its only in the last two hours since my first post that the colour changed really quickly.

i purified the water and they are acting fine, the two half blacks just seem to have lost their colour. i got two pearlscale zebras, and one pearlscale koi, and one pearlscale gold. they are all fine. its just the two half blacks funnily enough.

This is odd. I guess my initial though was maybe that you had topped off the tank with cold water and had hit them with it, and by the time the cold reached the others, it had dissipated enough that it didn't effect them. I've had it happen before, that a couple angels will just be faded for about 18 hours, no other oddities about them (I was topping off after water changes with cold R.O. water, and countering simultaneously with warm tap water, so the net temperature didn't change, but there were cold and warm spots). Angelfish are designed by the Amazon to be able to deal with this with very little detrimental effect, so if this is the case, and it doesn't happen often, your fish should turn out to be fine within the next day or two. Hope for the best!:)

yes, i really hope they are ok, in any case we will know the outcome of all this by tomorrow evening! i just hope they are ok. anyways its my birthday next thursday im gonna be 21! and my brother in law has promised to take me to a fish center and buy me all the fish i want!! lollll Ker-ching!!!!!! I can see $$$$$$$$ everywhere lol. im gonna get a few zebra plecs and some nice angels.

loll well my koi angel always tries to pick on all the others anyway! maybe they had a fight or something lol. well whatever it is this is the first time this has happened so I hope they colour back up.
