Need Help Removing Tape Residue

Hello,

I just acquired a 29 gal aquarium. The previous owner had put down some tape to hold a paper towel in place where he placed all the items included in the tank. How do I get it out? I have tried rubbing alcohol and a new sponge but it is barely making a dent in this damn tape. How harmful will this be when i add fish if it is not removed, and does anyone have any aquarium friendly fixes to my problem? Thanks!

If it's an empty tank, once you remove all the tape, I'd would just skip to "Goo Gone" (brand for the oil mentioned above). When it comes to adhesive residue removal this gets the job done quickly. Then you can wash and rinse well as you normally should.

Can also try vinegar/lemon juice combo. Let soak about an hour and scrub lightly with copper pad then rinse/wipe.
