Finally was able to get a good look at its underside. Definitely O>, so female she is. I hope these two pair off later. I've read that Cichla take several years to mature sexually right?

Well, either way is fine for me. I'm pretty sure they both were different, so one would be male and the other, female. But if the female has a vent tube, what does the male have? A fish penis?
