Hi guys! New to this wonderful forum, and would like to seek help from fellow Sporeans on where i could get a bumblebee grouper as well as other brackish converted fishes like jacks or barra. Thanks a mil, any help greatly appreciated! :)

Hi rox, i too am looking for freshwater converted specimens for the groupers and barra/jacks.. actually have not been active in the aquatics hobby for quite some time, so an very lost now..

Anyone could help advise which LFS do sell such fishes??

The best hope to get mangrove jacks is a fish farm, since its a food fish here and bred. commercial fishing ponds also stocks them with mangrove jacks because they are cheaper fish, they called it "chia cho" in dialect or common snapper, likewise for barra, or lates calcarifer, food fish and bred in huge numbers. The best way to get them is to ask the fish monger or the fishing pond owners although i seriously doubt that its been converted. Bumblebee grouper is rarer and expensive, saltwater barracuda, never seen it sold converted or not.

How about a FW Red Tail Barracuda?? It is available

Hi guys, thks for the kind replies :)

Hi Shaihulud, can u pls advice me where/which LFS to view & purchase a bumblebee grouper locally? If not convinient to reveal address here feel free to PM me, thks!

hey Tigriuns, cool & mean looking fish u got there. From the jaw structure & profile it does'nt really resemble a SW cuda. Personally interested in species similar to gamefish i target, so ;)

Still, great suggestions tho guys

sw baracuda?
none have been converted...
you could do atf.
groupers?
i only know of bumblebee grouper.
last tiem i saw one,was last year.
and the shop closed down. :(
im gonna check out some fish farm sometime for a barra.

Sorry i also only seen the bumblebee grouper a few times, in Yishun 618 and in Serangoon, I have forgotten which shop, and that was last year.

Hmm... seems like the search for a bumblebee gon be a very tough one..

Hey Shaihulud, can u advice me the price qouted for the bumblebee u saw last yr? Just need a range to start with, thks!

channarox, thks for ur help with the info.. 2 bad the shop's gone..

It was $300+? for a very small fish, I was quite shock because it looked like a saltwater fish (which it is) but kept in freshwater. very distinct and cool fish, but i don't think theres many people who can keep it as it should be kept.
