Need Help something is wrong...

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
your tank/filter should cycled already by now if done right
sounds like your arowana is advance stress state or possibly fin rot (i cant tell without pic), whats the temp on the tank?
jumpy/skittish is normal for arowana that size not eating is not for that size.
the fat goldfish might not picking on him but it might freak due to the size and goldfish behavioral? means the aro in extreme defense mode all the time

The temperature is currently at 81*F and yes maybe the arowana is in defense mode. the gold fish likes to suck the poop out of the arowanas butt for some reason....

I'll try to get a picture up too.

Separate from the goldfish. Arowana will tear and shred their tails and fins just from being chased or harassed by other fish. This is why I recommend no tankmates until the aro is at least 6" and only a very select few tank mates until it is 10-11" long. You need to get this healed or it will advance into fin rot.

yeah pic would be best, sounds like you dont have finrot nor water problem..remove the fat goldfish and let the aro alone for a week or 2 and it should be good :)

All speculation up until now.You still need to check your water params, ammonia, nitrite, nitrate and pH levels

All speculation up until now.You still need to check your water params, ammonia, nitrite, nitrate and pH levels

PH-Freshwater:
8.4 (no idea how it jumped so high with only a 30% water change)

Nitrite (N0 2) ppm (mg/L) - freshwater:
1.0

Nitrate (N0 3) ppm (mg/L) - freshwater:
20

Total Hardness (GH) ppm - freshwater:
75

Total Alkalinity (KH) ppm - freshwater:
120

Total Chlorine ppm - (mg/L) - freshwater:
0

According to the "Tetra Easy Strips" Test

I was going to lower the PH with chemicals but I read around and people say its a bad idea to alter the PH because it will likely kill the arow.

And just today one of his feelers fell off

The number one thing you need to test is your ammonia. With a pH that high ammonia is very harmful.
