Need help stocking new 29

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
maybe a few bosemani or turquoise rainbows with some loaches.
rams.
kribs.
neon rosy barbs for color.
pearl gouramis are cool.
bigger tetras like red and blue columbians.
red tailed (brilliant) rasboras.
CONGO tetras are really nice as adults.
black ruby barbs.
odessa barbs.

what ya think??

assorted dwarf cichlids

some killis for top water, or hatchets,
panda or skunk cories, angelicus botia, kuhli loaches, bamboo shrimp are sweet, just got one and he is PIMP.
i like the ram idea, you could do gold, blue, Bolivian, or possible other dwarf cichlids,
gold nugget, or zebra plec for looks
its just gonna depend on what colors you want, I had a friend who did all see-through fish in his tank: glass cats, glass fish, X-ray belly tetras, ghost shrimp, just to name a few!

once had a set up with buenos aires, tiger barbs, black tetras, snow flake tetras and black neons and some giant danios. it was cool. every species schooled up with its own kind.

I would go with some half beaks, dwarf loaches or corydoras sterbai, a queen abrasaque pleco, and some emperor tetras. You could probably do a ram or two if you wanted as well.

How about a small biotope setup with some dwarf south american cichlids...like some cockatoo's or really nice pair of rams...etc.

Then fill up the rest with South American Schooling fish, like cories, hatchets, and have the midwater be occupied by the "showcase fish"

Just a thought.

I think I have done this question before, lol.
I like hatchets, skunk corys, cockatoo apistos, and maybe some flame or BA tets, a mousetail knife would fit with that mix if you can find one

Heres a stock list of the fish I am plannin on doing once i get a planted tank set up in Mississippi...gonna be a kickin set up, you could edit it and do whatevar, but i think the colors, shapes, and personalities of the fish are perfect for a tank of that size...my tank is gonna be a 27 long....36" x 12.5" x 13"...;). Aight heres the fish:

1 x PAIR Crenicichla compressiceps (dwarf pikes!! :D )
4 x Krobia sp. 'Xingu orangespot’
10 x Cardinal Tetras
6 x Serpae Tetras
6 x Emperor Tetras
4 x Otocinclus

Yup, that will pretty much make up the tank. I'll have to fiddle wit it to get things correct, not sure on the Krobia aggression, and it will be hit and miss with the pikes, the only ones i would be worried about would the Cardinals, but I know some peeps that have done it. Gonna be a great tank if it works! ;)
