Thats cool, just my opinion,I have a young dorado and have seen plenty of good pictures of fully grown and colored adults with all that intense yellow contrasting with their chainmail looking silver scales. They are beautiful brutes. This brycon is something else with all of those different colors going on though.

Don't hold out on the pics..... ;) PLEASE!!! Never seen a colorful adult. :(

I've honestly never seen any Brycon over like 8 inches. The 8incher I saw in a LFS and didn't really look any different then a Dorado, but there's so many different species I have no clue exactly what it was. You very well could be right, not saying they aren't better looking, as I've never seen an adult but the Dorado do get a lot more color later in life.

Taking into account max size, maybe I should have opted for Brycon rather then Dorado.... LOL

Like you said, there are soo many different species of brycon and who knows which one this is,they label it as a barracuda lol.I will have to get a picture of it.They have smaller ones and based on the colors of the big one,I want some of them.

Although the Dorado is more sought after and costs more, these fish are more colorful when they get bigger. There's a store nearby that has a 12incher with a golden body, red fins and the tail fin is tricolor.

i think youre talking about a brycon dentex.
different fish.
theres several brycons.

sorry just want to make sure, is this dorado???

Yeah I know there's a bunch of them and it could be a Dentex. I dont have very many places to look for identification. If you come across a dentex picture could you post it?
