its a 300g tank..imma post the whole picture of the tank im planning to transfer my c.micro on a 50g tank and if he's too big enough on a 50g tank imma transfer him again on my 300g water tank..yeah your right guys my tank is empty just my channa inside on it..i want to make a BA set up on my tank so gimme some suggestions on what aquatic plants i will use to make a BA tank..ahm my idea is except for java ferns is it ok that i will use medium sized gravel and a mangroove sprout on the center of the tank and some of java ferns beside on the mangroove?and gimme some examples of floating plants except for water lillies?btw my c.micro had a name..he's name was ISKO..hehe lol..he is already 2-3 months old channa micropeltes i think?his size was 9-10" is he too small for a 2-3 months old c.micro??he's a choosy monster. he dont want to eat worms..or chopped meat..he likes live feeders..like jap koi's and btw guys gimme some examples of feeder fish coz on our lfs jap koi's are the cheapest feeder fish and i cant aford it..50c/ea. jap koi and its too much expensive for me im only a civil engineering student my allowance is $50/week equivalent to 500 pesos in philippines and my micro eats 16pcs jap koi's per week imagine how much he consumes every week..??gimme some small fish that are good for breeding then ill make them as feeders on my pretty monster

don't let him have his way, if you ever want him to eat pellets or other foods, i suggest you starve him and toss in a piece of meat every day or 2 until he realizes hes not gunna get anything else. When faced with starvation a SH will 99% of the time take the food they are given.

PS feeders can bring diseases so, you can't feed him feeders forever, it's too risky. Also pellets are more healthy for him/her

he eats twice a week and 8 feeders per meal so 16pcs per week. O_o hmm ok i will try to trained him to eat pelletsss.. thanks for the idea

HI,

try to get him on frozen fish, over here in Germany there are asian shops that sell small frozen whole fish very cheap. Like mud gobys or other fish aquarists would like to have in their tanks. Even frozen shrip are great.
If you feed him less he wont grow so fast.

Floating plants that are easy Pistia stratoides (water lettuce) Or Limnobium laevigatum (in German Froschbiss=frogbite)

Cheers

just don't feed him anything but the meat, eventually he'll get hungry and try it. Continue feeding him whatever meat it is you're giving him until he eats it on a regular basis. Only if he looks sick or starving to death should you give in and give him feeders (SH can go a while without food so that shouldn't be too much of a problem). So yea, toss in the chunk of meat, he he doesn't eat it after like 15mins, take it out so it doesn't rot, do this for however long it takes for him to accept the food you give him
