this only strengthens my original suspicion of a bacterial infection
i'd try a little of gram-positive combo like nitrofirazone+furazolidone - it sounds you have little-to-nothing to lose

He started eating again so I'm stoked! I left some pellets in his tank last night and this morning, a couple of them were gone so I know he ate them. Hopefully he'll soon start eating as much as he used to and get big. Thanks for the tips guys.
