need help w/ perch

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
here is my set up

55 gallon.. with 3 gold perch or 2 regular

temp about 77 (plan to lower to 75)
ph of 6.8
24/7 new water dipping

they need fast movement of water... powerhead ;) ...

they are ez to train on market shrimp, silver fish (raw cocktail shrimp... )

so far 3 gold and 1 regular are on maket shrimps.

starve them for couple days.. and slowly drop the market shrimp down.. once they get the first taste of the shrimp... then they will be hooked...

i divide my tank into 2. convert and non convert... ez to keep track

dont over feed them.... ;)

hey NEO how important is the PH levels for these guy's I see that your PH is at 6.8 here locally I have water that is a discus lovers nightmare... It runs out of the tap at an amazing 8.4-8.6 and even treating it with peat will not lower it one bit due to how incredibly hard it is! Is this going to be a problem?

OK so I give him raw shrimp in a tank that has a lot of waterflow with lots of gravel and large rocks on the bottom of the tank! now what about live plants I have wanted to plant my 75 that I am putting him in for quite a while but will he eat the plants or tear them apart?

I dont see pH as a problem as long as you acclimate the fish slowly. I dont think pH really affects the fish much unless you're keeping discus.
