Need help wiring GFCI outlets to on/off switches

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Just bought the American DJ PC-100 on Amazon. The good outweighed the bad.

Decided not to take on the wiring challenge right now. It would have been too complicated and time consuming for me. I'll definitely give it another shot in the future.

That looks great gmalone! How did you wire that and how are you going to wire your gfci outlet?

I wired it right to left as the main power comes in on the right. Used wire nuts to join the incoming cable to regular 14 gauge household wire and just jumped from plug to plug so they are all wired in parallel; if one dies the others will still function, just like the wiring in a house.
To add the GFI; I'll replace the first outlet on the right and make sure the power goes through that one so the other outlets will also be protected.
I saw the switched power outlets you're showing; found them on Amazon also. That's what gave me the idea to make my own; I didn't buy one of those shown as I thought it wouldn't fit in my stand very well and once I got the idea to make one I had to do it. (That's the problem with being obsessive-compulsive) I also read some reviews that were'nt very good but they are reasonably priced.
I don't think I would do it again as those outlets with the switches cost 8 bucks each so this whole thing cost me about $54 to make not counting the plywood I already had.
The outlets are all in plastic boxes they sell at the Homer Diaper.

I reccomend using a GFCI for each piece of equipement. This is so you don't loose your entire tanks power if one piece of equipment shorts out
