Need help with drawer sump..

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Oh and as far as water spilling out of the drawers, yes I had an issue at first. Just put more holes in the bottom of the drawers. Problem solved! Sorry for all the spelling/grammar issues. I'm using the Android app and my auto correct is stupid.

Not a problem, you're being a huge help! but I wanted to use 1.25" pvc, which is good for 937.5gph.. the danner does 950gph and the quite one does 991 gph (surely these are at 0 head height though).. So what would you recommend? Or should I go with 1" pvc?

I think 1" flows a max of 600gph. So I'd stick with the 1.25". With head height considered and any bends in the return the danner or quiet one will probably only push 5-600 gph. You'd be surprised at how much loss you actually get. I haven't calculated it exactly but my mag 12 runs maybe at 700gph. Either pump you listed with the 1.25 pvc sounds like an ok combo.

Is there something better that you'd recommend? Also, what all valves should I buy when I go to purchase the pvc and whatnot?

The diagram of your overflow on the back of the tank.

Thinking about just drilling my aquarium.... I got plenty of stuff to practice on.. but say I drilled it today, but didn't have my sump set up til next week, is it possible to drill your aquarium, put bulkheads in it, and then kind of like plug them?

I think there is. You could just put a tall stand pipe in the bulkhead so the water never overfows it.

Good thinking. You're the man! or woman! idk lol.. But thank you very much for all your help! Still would like some more help on pvc size and pump recommendations
