Need help with finding correct size bulk head

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
It's all about flexibility.
Threaded bulkheads give you much more flexibility, if you want to change things later, you unscrew it and do your change. If you use a slip, and later you want to change it, you must get out a saw and cut.
I always use threaded whenever possible. If I can't, then I try to ad unions to ease in taking PVC apart.
below is a union

If I need to clean out the pump, it can easily be unscrewed and the rest of the plumbing is not bothered.
Pacu mom gave you an excellent explanation of bulkheads and how to use them.

On my drain line I installed a slip x slip as there is no back pressure but on my return line(smaller fitting) I used thread x thread. Also on my drain line I used a tapered jacuzzi hose and haven't needed to use glue, so moving things around isn't even an issue.
