Nice Freddy. Im wondering how much trade-in fishman got for it? Probably in the $10.00 range store credit and sell the fish at $40.00 for a 300% profit. I love lfs.

It is true if you look at it on a small picture...

But think about it on their end...

Cost of keeping the fish that includes
- Space (need a bigger tank)
- Food
- Caring
- Eating or picking on other fish

So after calculating all that, 30% IMO is not that bad. I am not an LFS, but after looking into their operation a little deeper, I think 30% is pretty fair considering you're taking a fish that may have disease, fungus and etc.

I am sure in the long run, they have made some great money in a very short amount of time, but if you average all trade in and all sell together, it comes up to about equal amount of profit. I have seen a fish that literally stuck at LFS for months...

What would make me think it's a mix, or what would make me think it looks like loisellei? Just the fact that it's the same genus, they all look a bit alike to me, freddy's, jag's mota's and loisellei. I never got to see darthv's freddy's when they grew. Last time I saw them they were pretty small and always liked to hide. Guess I"m just not familiar enough with them.

I only asked becasue I see a lot of posts where people state that a particular fish "looks like a mix of..." It just makes me shake my head that the inclination of many aquarists...and predominantly younger aquarists...is that a fish is a hybrid.

Ah. Well, guess it was just a lack of experience on my part. Thought that other freddys I'd seen didn't look quite like that.

Not a problem. I was just curious why the general masses make the hybrid call more often than not.

Peace.
