So i just got home from work and saw one of my lap swimming like this, dont know what happen but it was fine last night, im thinking its been injured from the previous owner, since he was bullied by cichlids. Can you guys help me, if i need a med. or anything, i put epsom salt already.

First thing is check your water with a liquid test kit (ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate) any damage ? Swollen abdomen ?

Is that the new one ?

i check the water and its all fine, im going to bring some water to a lfs right now and do a wc when i get back home,
This is the free one i got last week from my coworker, the one that got bullied by the cichlids.

Ive seen fish act that way after a head injury... Maybe it tried to jump and hit it head on the top and got rattled really good. It was not doing this before? New behavior?

Do you have a spare tank you can put it in? I think I would pull it and put it in a small tank about half full so it did not have to struggle to get to the top and watch it for a bit.

I dont have extra tank, i do qt in a cooler, but he sims fine swimming around, not having hard time going to the surface, i noticed that when i turn the light on and he got spooked and he did the burst of speed thing then he swim like that, but now im doing wc he swims fine.

So when i was in the LFS getting my water check, i called my coworker and he said that the lap did jump out of his tank twice. So i think it has a head injury.
