Need help with picking a fish

What size is your tank? Flagtails are great for algae but they’re messy and get big and can be aggressive. Great fish if you can accommodate them
Lol flagtails are messy? Have you ever even had one?

they clean everything and poop is like dust. Hardly even adds anything to your tank. They are only (sometimes) aggressive to their own kind if you have smaller numbers.

I have owned close to 200 of them and currently have multiple and have never experienced any of what you are describing outside of them getting big. But they are extremely slow growers and easy to sell at bigger sizes because people with big tanks always need clean up crews. Lol.

I’ve had a few and have one now and it’s a fast grower ( tripled in size in 2 months) poops a lot and is pretty mean, especially towards the silver dollars But they do keep the glass spotless So…

Damn, they’re $30-$40 each here, you must REALLY like them
They are usually 50-150 around here. And yes I do really like them.

I think they are fascinating and very over looked. Funny enough, I rarely pay much attention to them. But as soon as they leave the tank, I notice their absence. So I try to keep at least one in all of my tanks. I have a 12” one in my 300g sump right now and it takes care of all the clean up in there
