These are the best pictures i could get of him. He hides behind the tree always and getting worried that he might die if i cant figure out how to get him to eat.

I got him almost 4 days ago. And not really sure what to do with him now. He's a big pleco. I am guessing around 2' since he's bigger then my catfish by a long shot and he's 1'. Theres been a couple of times where i found him in a different part of the tank but he always returns to that spot he dug into the sand. Is it normal for them to just lay in the same spot and not eat very often?

Also any idea what kind of pleco this is? I got him at some random pet store on my way home and they didnt know.

Thank you for that. I was actually wondering what to feed him. I already started to put cucumber in the tank from the first day i got him. I do that every night and he doesnt seem to want it. Thats why I posted it on here since I never had a pleco this big and really had no idea what to do haha. Thanks for the help though. I am just glad I didnt make a mistake putting the cucumber in the tank.

He may have been used to meaty food from the previous owner that gave it back to the lfs. Keep trying cucumber, but also try some sinking pellets, frozen bloodworm, live blackworms. Get him to eat anything first. Then slowly change to more veggie diet. Feed, turn off lights, check in the morning. Since there's good chance that there'll be leftovers, watch water parameter n change water more often until he starts eating.

Alright. Most likely he wont even get a chance to eat the pellets or anything like that with my Severum and RTC in the same tank. But, I'll try it.

Over time mine actually started eating when I feed in the morning. After he eats a few pellets he goes and hides.

Yeah there's no way to get pellets or bloodworms to the pleco. Right when i put them in the tank. The RTC destroys everything to get them. I actually had to reach into the tank to get the RTC out of the hole get got himself stuck in when he was getting the bloodworms. Ill keep trying but the RTC is not making it easy so far. Its already a pain to get the Severums to eat with the him chasing them around to steal the food.

Bioload sounds fairly high, what size tank are These guys in?

180 gallon tank with only 5 fish. 2 very small severums (which i am surprised are still alive) and a small pleco and the big guy posted above. Along with a RTC which is about a foot big. Getting a new tank here in the next couple of months.
