:help2:i have 2 small oscars in my 55g right now but the water seems cloudy i just did a 20% water change 2 days ago...im gonna do another one today when i get home but i want to know if mabey i should turn all the gravel over to release all the poop and waste from inside the gravel? will this help or should i leave the gravel the same and just use the syfin tube i have to just get a little of whats in the gravel? any one have any ideas??!!


this picture is of my actual tank lol but this is kind of what the cloudy water looks like...BUT it only looks like this cloudyness from looking at the side of the tank if i look at the front it looks fine

Agreed. If it is a bacteria bloom it should clear up shortly. I definetely advise vaccuming gravel throughouly and regularly. Avoid over feeding also. If all fish appear healthy I would not worry about it unless it gets worse or does not clear up in a few days. Also, ensure you have more than adequate filtration...More is better.

Yup , gravel vac and do some water changes and lessen their feeding. And you never stated your filtration....
 
my filtration is an AQUA Tech 30-60 all i can aford right now
 
what do you mean "add activated carbon"??
 
What are your nitrite, nitrate, and ammonia levels?
 
in aqua tech 30-60 aint that bad of a filter, so long as you modify it a little. put some netting, or loose fishing line (or something along those lines) in before your activated carbon filter cartridge. they flow alot of water they are just lacking in media. i have a pair of them that i dont even use the activated carbon cartridge i just have them filled with netting.
