Polyaddict86 Polyaddict86 can you take a pic of your sump try and get the bio and pump in the pic.

Insufficient bio media, turnover, both or cycle crashed. You have some pretty toxic water there. It'd be easier to start with a huge water change so you can observe the cycle more easily.

Are you saying you have 24+ ft of fish in there?

My suggestion is cut back on feeding especially if it is done everyday and multiple times a day. If fish are mature they can be fed every other day. Atleast do this until you lower your stock .

Just to add. When i add the high nitrate issues with the 150 i cut feedings to twice a week maybe 3. Wc's were 2 or 3 fin levels possibly a 50% too
Ok ill feed three times a week to try if it dont work twice a week.

How long has the tank been running? You need to ensure you are dosing the tank volume with prime every 24-48 hours. That will eliminate any fish losses while your tank finishes cycling. You should not have nitrite which means that the tank is in the middle of the cycling process. I also agree that you should be doing at least three WC per week while this is getting sorted out. Certainly cut back feeding as well
I bought this tank from craigslist and it was running, i had it for almost a year now.

Feeding isn't the issue. The water quality is the issue and if not addressed it will result in the death of fish very soon. Stop feeding all together until this is fixed. The fish will be fine with no food. It is significantly less dangerous to not feed than to be adding to water quality/cycle issue.

What about the other questions asked? We want to help you and answering those questions can help us do just that.

Makes sense. Do we have details on the filtration? How much bio, flow rate, filtration type etc...?
Filtration i have a sump, i have 14 bags of aquaclear bio max, sump pipe is only 1" big, return is 1" hose but im not sure what pump im using since it came with the tank when i bought it.

Thank you! That helps. If you can manage to get a pic of the pump we can help let you know what it is and the flow rate. How long has the tank been running? You water perams appear to me a week or two away from finishing the cycling process.

Wow, that tank is a mess!

It looks like your bioload has surpassed your bb capacity. What are you running for filtration(be very specific)?

At this point, you have to start removing all those toxic wastes, specifically the ammonia and nitrite. Since your bb is compromised, you have no choice but to do this via wc. I recommend you start doing about 75% wc everyday for the next 4 days; after that at least 50% every other day for a week until parameters reaches a safe level. I would also, during this period, limit feeding to every third day, and keep the feeding on the light side.

My best guess is that you're lacking adequate biomedia and you've been over feeding, which will compound the issue.

If you plan to reduce the stock, doing it as soon as possible will greatly help.

I know this is a lot, especially with a new baby, but that tank is in crisis mode right now and you have to get aggressive.

Is it a single 1" overflow? If so the amount of flow into the sump is going to be a limiting factor in your setup. Even adding more bio media may not help. Best bet would be to add a second overflow by drilling or using an overflow box or adding an fx6 or similar flow canister/canister combination. In a heavily stocked tank your should be shooting for 6 x turnover at minimum. So about 1,100 gph or higher.
