Need help with whitspot on mono PBass

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
well at least he's still eating, hopefullly he'll pull through, from what i can remember you only need to use the meds for 3 days then you do a water change, is that right? is that what your doing?

It doesn't say to do a water change it only says to use 5ml per 40ltr water the first day, Then on the second and third days to half the dosage. We will see how we go. If he does pull through do you think it will be safe to put some of the bigger Bass in with him, He is only about 10-12cm, How long after signes of Ich have gone should I wait before adding other fish.

Ok cool, after using the meds for 3 days do a water change and if theirs still signs of ich repeat meds as directed for another 3 days, if he pulls through you won't be able to add the bigger bass, they'll just eat him 4 sure, once this little guy is cured I'd wait at least a week and do a water change before adding any other fish just to be safe..

update?

He still has signs of Ich I have just done the 3rd day of treatment with Ichonex, He is looking a little better than yesterday, he is eating well, The green terror that is in the tank with him has now shaken all signs of the Ich so I hope over the next couple of days the Bass will do the same, If the Bass still has Ich tomorrow I will be doing a 25% water change and start treatment with Ichonex again. Thanks again for all your help guys its been greatly appreciated.

for my flower horns i would do 50% water changes with a dose of med every other day they cured in about 5 days

no worries pete, sounds like the meds are working, it should be ok, post up updates when you can :)

Hey guys, I think the little guy is on the turn around, There is only about half the amount of Ich today and he is so much more lively, Rather than do a water change I did one extra day of meds half dose as I did a water change before starting the meds.He is swimming all around the tank exploring where as before he would just sit in a corner of the tank and sulk, He is also now eating Hikari and bloodworm I'm so happy the little guy looks like he made it.woooohoooo. I have a question for all you PBass fans, would it be OK to put a Red Texas or maybe a flowerhorn in the tank with him.If not what would be a suitable tank mates for him as I don't think I will get another Bass this size, The guy from the LFS has given me a credit for the loss of the other guy.

Regards

Peter

PS I will post updated pics soon

nice one bro  I'd still wait till the ich has cleared before adding any new fish but once it has cleared tankmates can vary I've seen red Texas work before, depends on the individual fish, try it and see how you go.. Can't wait for updated pics :D
