somewhere in the woods
need to know some friendly fish that can go in the 125 with the jd (2) i have ...they r both on the smaller side 3-4 inches the tank looks empty with just two and i would like to see about 5-6 more fish in there ...i have a dovii and learned the hard way that NOTHING can live with him but the female.....

parrot fish red devil gars cat fish or even a small pacu

Why don't you get some nice dithers like silver dollars. They do well in at least schools of 6. Your JDs will eventually get big and the tank will look complete.

assuming you want the JDs to be the primary fish and then add fish that will go with them, I would go with similar, but slightly smaller, CA cichlids

I had succesfully kept convict, salvini, rainbow and firemouth cichlids with my JD . . .

I did not have good luck with a GT, and I seriously doubt you want to try a Red Devil, unless you enjoy conflict and don't really like Jack Dempseys

if you want some schooling fish, try some barbs . . .

I really liked my leporinus, although they can get nasty as they get older. a 125G tank should be large enough to minimize any aggression

silver dollars and parrots would look kewl to

yeah well i know better on the red devil.....was also looking at red terror....naw...this tank i want to have more fish in some colorful and relaxen to watch i have the nasty fish (dovii) already ...my g/f would like to see something more like a fish tank ...

:iagree:add some SD's as Dithers and make the JD'S the center piece or some sev's would be cool too

Everyone always wants to add another Cichlid. I'd add the Silver Dollars, a school of Tiger Barbs and a school of bright colored Tetras. That way you'll never have to worry about what to do with a Cichlid that's tearing up your JD's (or getting torn up). Clown Loaches would be a good idea, too.
