thanks alot everyone!! The oscars problem is hard to tell because Im so new. The tiny white spots are so small its hard to see but when my blue flourescent light is on they show up better. From what Ive read in the stickies and from what everyone here has told me it might be ick. I cant see a film coat over the fish at all. How much salt do I add to the tank and how much do I raise the temp??

ok...just added 9 teaspoons of salt to the tank and put a heater in and set it to 80. Ill keep checking the fish and make sure everyone does ok with the temp and salt change. What do you guys think. Should the rest of the fish be ok with the treatment? From everything Ive read in the stickys and on this forum alone Ive come to my conclusion that it is ick. So Im going to try the salt treament and temperature change. Ill keep everyone updated also on how the progress of the 180 and how the fish react to the ick treatment. I really hope I can get my tank cleared up.
well i talked to the store where I ordered my 180 and they said they cant get one for 5 weeks now. So now I have a canopy and stand and filters for the 180 and Im second guessing just telling the store to cancel it. Ive been looking around alot on here in the classifieds and have found some really good deals on used tanks. Now Im debating finding a tank in the United States semi close to where I am "10-14 hours max" and taking a weekend to go pick it up. What do you guys think. I should beable to get a 200-220 gallon for what I was going to pay for the 180 new.
OK guys!! I just found a 265 gallon with a fluval fx5 and 90 gallon sump for sale around my area (well 5 hours away) that I think Im going to buy!! Do you guys think that the fx5 and mechanical sump with be enough filtration? Im so excited to get the tank its not funny. The 265 should beable to hold my addiction for a couple years for sure! Illl post pics for sure when I get the tank here and start doing the transfer from the 90 to the 265!!
ok guys Ive scratched the 180 all together. I figured that for the amount I was paying for the 180 and the pain I was getting from the store that Im going to make the move and go and pick up the new 265 gallon today and still save 150 bucks!! Im so excited for my fish now!! Is there a process I should do to seed this new tank that you guys would suggest? Now that my filters for the 90 are good I can switch them from the 90 to the new tank right?
