My redtail catfish doesn't wanna eat anything for the past two days... but he seems to be active.. He swims up and down in the tank.. change the water regularly. I used to feed him pellets everyday and now whenever he sees the pellets he will go back to his hiding place?... Any suggestions?? Is he sick?

i used to feed him pellets and some live fish. and i;ve been trying shrimps but he just avoid it...

Ph: 6.5
nitrate: under 100 PPM
ammonia: zero
tank size: 72" x 24" x 24" tall

nitrate: under 100 PPM

That's quite a heavy nitrate reading. Typically anything below 20ppm is at a level it won't harm the fish, though I like to try to keep mine below 10ppm. You should definitely address the high nitrate levels with wc's. Prolonged exposure to nitrates can slowly kill your fish and cause all sorts of problems and poor health for your fish.
