Happy New Year EVERYONE
I am having some problem with my Flowerhorn and need advice from more expert people.
I recently got a brand new bare bottom no ornaments 50g aquarium for my FH (will upgrade to bigger size as my FH grows)
pH 7.6 High pH 7.4 Ammonia 0 Nitrite 0 Nitrate 5
Previously FH was staying with a Bichir in a 100g aquarium (with drift wood, pvc pipes, and black substrate) but bichir started to show some aggression, nipping FH's fins off, so decided to move my FH to a solo tank.
Now the problem,
1.
My FH gets attracted to the inlet/outlet of the filter (especially the outlet where water pumps out with some current) and the surface of the water (reflection and bubbles) and, try to jump and bite it. Sometimes the FH crashes its tiny hump into inlet/outlet while jumping/bitting and gets a little damage.
I was wondering getting maybe 3~5 danios or tetras will make my FH from being less interested in the other dangerous parts having less damage = less sadness for me
2.
My FH is suddenly refusing to eat pellets after I few raw prawns...
It is less interested in it and usually spits it out or chews it into pieces and spit it out.
It does eat raw prawns and other raw foods and poop well (Luckily no white strings or any sign of parasites I hope)... but just not the pellets.
I SHOULD HAVE NEVER GIVEN PRAWN IN THE FIRST PLACE...
What is the best way of fixing this habit or would it be better for me to just stick with raw diet food (white fish/prawns/others fishy stuff. Need to feed my bichir any way so
).
Thanks
