From what ive read about these catfish they eat just about anything that lives with them. On a visit to Thailand i acctually saw these fish a few times seemed very active and quite interesting yet i didnt not know anything about them. Id keep one if they were not going to eat my other fish. Very cool fish
I have a 20" marbled clarias just like your pic. The horror stories of these cats are crazy lol. Mines great, energetic and lives with barbs, pictus, rapheal and loaches just fine in my 125 (moving to 300 soon)....only ate 1 golden dojo loach cuz I'm guessing he looked like a worm. There mouths aren't big like other big cats so many smaller fish stand a chance. I'm in Canada so legal. Got em at 3" for $5 and grew to about 15" in 6 months. He jumped out once, made it half way across the living room floor before I caught him...and then sealed gaps in canopy and tried to clean slime trail off the carpet lol. Give them a big cave (which mine defends) and they'll be happy. The way they just stand vertical on there tail is kinda cool too. There eyesight is bad so hence the crazy whiskers which are also marbled. Don't listen to the haters, there fun to watch. Good luck!
