looks like a mayan cichlid
 
1st pic looks Mayan. Do you have a better pic of the 2nd guy?

Even though second picture is alittle blurry it shows colors and everything of a Mayan aka Uro. The other pictures were alittle tougher since they didn't show fishes true colors.

Yeah I agree I was just thinking maybe there was a "y" on it.... LOL Im optimistic...
 
watch their vertical stripes when they darken up. if the first vertical bar forms a Y then they're festae. in the second pic, it almost does look like it forms a Y so I woudln't but the pic is also pretty blurry. bottom line though, I wouldn't be too quick to label them mayans just yet. ;)
 
i've never been a fan of the tail spot as an indicator between the 2...especially when they're young because the tail spot can be very deceiving. even though it is larger than normal for a festae, it also appears in each pic to be up at the top of the caudal peduncle instead of centered like a mayan's would be.
