spotted lizard of some sort not much help but a free bump for others to chime in...
 
Does it have any red spots on it's back? It looks a bit like a red-spotted newt, Notophthalmus viridescens.
 
Definitely not a red spotted Newt
 
Looks a lot like a great crested newt, Triturus Cristatus, but I won't be able to tell without more pics. Get some more pics showing the side and underbelly and I can tell you what it is.
